PAID INTERNSHIP FOR TEACHING SCHEME
LTSA is one of only 23 school groups in the country who are piloting an exciting project aimed at second-year undergraduates who are interested in teaching maths or physics.
The scheme aims to introduce students to teaching maths or physics through placements in schools over the course of 4 weeks in the Summer term. LTSA is working closely with the University of Lincoln and the Science Learning Partnership in this scheme and this is an element of the drive to recruit outstanding STEM trainees to our SCITT programme.
During the 4 week programme, students will be based within a science or maths department in a school. The student will undertake observations of outstanding teachers, support small groups, lead small projects and jointly plan and co-deliver lessons. There will be designated days for training from experienced leaders of initial teacher training. A payment of £300 per week will be received by each participant in the scheme.
