Keynote Speaker: Mary Myatt

The session will re-emphasise the importance of high quality talk both as a fundamental human right and as an essential plank for learning.  Mary will explore the interplay between reading, writing and talk and the extent to which James Britton's insight that 'writing floats on a sea of talk' is rhetoric or reality in our classrooms.
